Operating Principle: The AS5600 encoder operates on a non-contact Hall effect basis, capturing magnetic field changes via a built-in Hall sensor array as the magnet rotates. This process is converted into a precise 12-bit digital output, providing 4096 distinct position points per 360° rotation, translating to approximately 0.088° per position. It maintains an angle error of within ±0.3° across the full range and supports real-time detection at speeds up to 1000 RPM with a 10kHz sampling frequency. Durability: The AS5600 magnetic encoder operates beyond 10 million cycles due to its contactless magnetic detection mechanism. It features an IP50 rating for resistance against dust and oil. Integration: This sensor module includes an integrated ADC, temperature compensation, and a linearization algorithm. It supports a 400kHz I2C communication rate and allows for cascading multiple devices. Outputs include PWM and a linear analog voltage range from 0.5V to 4.5V. Applications: Precise motor control in drones and servo motors, industrial automation in rotary valves and robotic arms, user interface controls like knobs, and steering angle measurements in robotics.
