The AS5048A is a high-resolution, 14-bit absolute magnetic rotary position sensor designed for precise and reliable angular measurement. It provides 16384 distinct positions per 360-degree revolution, delivering exceptional accuracy for demanding applications. The contactless magnetic sensing technology ensures a long operational life with no mechanical wear, as it requires no physical contact with the rotating shaft. Key features include flexible digital SPI and analog-style PWM outputs for easy integration with microcontrollers and control systems. The zero position is easily programmable via simple SPI commands, streamlining setup and calibration. This sensor is specifically designed to work with a simple rotating dipole magnet placed above or below the IC.
