Product Description New Riverstone Audio Record-Grade Stylus Tracking Force Meter/Scale Product Details This professional tracking force meter is designed for vinyl record enthusiasts who need accurate measurements of vertical tracking force (VTF). For accurate VTF measurements, the stylus tip should be in the same vertical position as the record surface—i.e., at record level. The Riverstone VTF meter measures vertical tracking force approximately 2 to 3 mm from the turntable or phono pad surface, matching the height at which the stylus tip contacts the LP record (LP record thickness ranges from 1.9 to 2.9 mm). This design eliminates the need to remove the turntable pad, as the measuring arm automatically positions the stylus at the correct height. In contrast, lower-priced meters typically measure stylus tip pressure 6 to 10 mm from the record surface, which can lead to inaccurate tracking force readings. To minimize interference with moving magnet (MM) and moving coil (MC) cartridges, the stylus is made of durable plastic, and the detachable cantilever extension arm is made of non-ferromagnetic stainless steel. Two calibration weights (5g and 20g) are included for quick recalibration (approximately one minute). Using larger calibration weights (not included), the stylus can be recalibrated up to 100g. A polymer pad on the measuring platform protects the stylus tip and ensures precise centering during measurement. The LED display features bright green readings for easy readability.
