Note: Use a compatible USB data cable. Some cables support charging only and cannot be used for data transfer or programming. Hardware setup: Connect the development board to your computer using the USB-to-UART interface. The software does not currently support connection via the ESP32-S3 USB interface. All subsequent instructions assume use of the USB-to-UART interface by default. Software setup: Refer to the Quick Start section for guidance on setting up the development environment and flashing the application to the board. Specifications: - Onboard module: ESP32-S3-WROOM-1-N16R8 - Development board: ESP32-S3-DevKitC-1 (N16R8) - ESP32-S3-WROOM-1 and ESP32-S3-WROOM-1U are Wi-Fi + Bluetooth LE microcontroller modules with rich peripheral interfaces, AI acceleration capabilities, and signal processing features, designed for AIoT applications. - ESP32-S3-WROOM-1 includes an onboard PCB antenna; ESP32-S3-WROOM-1U supports external antenna connection via U.FL connector. - 5V to 3.3V power converter: Accepts 5V input and provides regulated 3.3V output. - Pin headers: Expose all available GPIO pins except those used by the flash SPI bus. Refer to the board’s pinout documentation for details. - USB-to-UART port: Micro-USB interface serving as power input, firmware flashing interface, and serial communication channel via the onboard USB-to-UART bridge. - Boot button: Used to enter firmware download mode — hold while pressing the Reset button, then release Reset first, then Boot. - Reset button: Initiates system reset. - ESP32-S3 USB port: USB OTG interface supporting USB 1.1 full-speed operation.
