No response indicates a simulated stone, such as cubic zirconia. Proper Usage – Position the tip vertically and gently on the surface of the stone. Adjust the displayed carat value using the up/down buttons according to the instrument’s guidance—exact carat input is not required. For diamonds of 1.0 carat, one green light illuminates; for 0.5 carat, two green lights; for smaller stones (e.g., melee or pointed cuts), three or four green lights may activate.
