LTC3108-1 Ultralow Voltage Step-Up Converter and Power Manager Development Board The LTC3108-1 is a highly integrated DC/DC converter designed compatible with energy harvesting and power management from very low input voltage sources such as thermoelectric generators (TEGs), thermopiles, and small solar cells. Its step-up topology operates from input voltages as low as 20 mV. Using a small external step-up transformer, the LTC3108-1 provides a complete power management solution compatible with wireless sensing and data acquisition applications. A 2.2 V output powers an external microprocessor, while the main output is programmable to one of four fixed voltages (2.5 V, 3.0 V, 3.7 V, or 4.5 V) to supply wireless transmitters or sensors. A power-good indicator signals when the main output voltage is within regulation. A second output can be enabled by the host system. A storage capacitor supplies power when the input source is unavailable. Extremely low quiescent current and high efficiency enable fast charging of the output reservoir capacitor. The LTC3108-1 is functionally equivalent to the LTC3108, differing only in its fixed VOUT options.
